I use the same cutting fluid you use while threading pipes. I believe the brand is TAP Magic, like shown above. There is a different cutting fluid for aluminum, it smells like cinamon, but it makes a big difference in not gumming up drill bits or saw teeth.

What ruins drill bits is to much speed, slow them down and a little lubricant they will last a lifetime, I have got bits that belonged to my Grandfather and he passed in 59, still going strong

Tap magic or cutting oil for steel. Wd40, atf or paste wax for aluminum. Anchor lube for stainless steel.

Get some Tap Magic for the DP and then do yourself a favor and get some aerosol cutting fluid for when you're upside down backwards under a truck frame.

I vote for stick wax over liquid as it stays put. Boelube is the bomb and Relton Stick-Kut is excellent as well. These also work spectacularly well for cutting aluminum with a carbide tipped saw blade. Just slather it on and no problems with the aluminum welding itself to the blade teeth. Walter makes a product for this purpose as well which as expected for Walter works great.

I also like the "Magic Tap". :)

I usually drill a 1/8" pilot hole greater than 5/16" dia. That also helps a lot.

I've used Tap Magic for years. I recently got some new stuff that is awesome. I'll post the name of it when I get back home. It's a gel-like oil and stay where put. It worked better than tap magic.

I hope it's not Unist Coolube. I tried some and it stinks really bad, makes me sick..
