I would like to get a decent drill bit set. I have seen some recommendations on here for some but what I really want is replacability of bits with the same exact bit. I really can't stand things being all mixed and unmatched is there a decent set from a well established company where I can always get an exact replacement bit easily. I.e. if I got an enco set where can I buy a single replacement bit just like the others in the set

You'll want a brand name set from Enco or MSC. From Enco, you won't want "import" since suppliers might change from time to time. But with brand names, you can usually buy the exact same matching drill bit.

Look at Precision Twist, Triumph, and Cleveland.

Grainger or MSC, if you have a big enough account, will tell you which sets they will do that for. I forget which one we used because we bought tooling from both in the mac shop. We had 8 sets of bits, mills etc, because it was a university machine shop and they had to be available for students to break.

We kept classes to 5 plus the instructor, so we had a buffer anyway, but they would break common sizes and we'd just order more. We tried using some of the '10 pack of 1/4" bits' but didn't last as long.

I know this situation wouldn't necessarily match yours but whatever set you get, I'd get two. Even if you can get a replacement, nothing is a substitute for having another one ready to use now.

I bought a set of Norseman from Epstein, these are excellent bits. They also carry the replacement bits there, or you could get replacements from EMI, but they are slightly more expensive.

In my construction tool box for work I have Milwaukee. Have bought many replacements especially for smaller sizes. At home in the shop I buy bits per job and don't care about sets beyond general sizes and common drills for npt tap sizes I commonly use. I just have a drawer full of bits, tape the drill to the tap and say f' it. One day I will developer a cleaner method for storage but this works for now. Sorry or over sharing....know I deviated from your question a bit but you never clarified te intended use.

I buy allot of bits through Fastenal but I do allot of business with them so I buy at a good discount.
