What are the difference between the two sets? The only difference I can see is the name. Super Premium Black and Gold vs. Super Premium Gold Strike.

Thanks for the heads up!

Anyone try giving them an offer?

:edit: The difference is the 3-flats ground on the drill or not. Same bits, incredible quality.
::edit2:: Accepted $50 as an offer...

i have the top set.

50 dollars shipped is a great price.

i paid a fair amount more than that locally and still think i got a good deal. it is a little hard to see the sizes in the drill index but it is very sturdy and weather resistant.

The Norseman 40614 Jobber Length Ultra-Dex Drill Set, 29pc, Gf-29P have the 3 flats. That is the first set linked in the original post.

My $50 offer was accepted for this set. Free shipping on this item.

Just to provide some additional clarity, these bits ARE NOT the same material. I called up the manufacture to get additional clarity.

1st link - The bits with the 3 flats, # 40614, are HSS
2nd link - The bit without the 3 flats, # 44170, are hi molybdenum tool steel, which is supposed to be thinner, less brittle and therefore “better” than cobalt in work hardening materials. Which means you can run them a little faster.

Just wanted to share this info as it’s different than the previous info shared and it was key in making a decision on which set to buy.

Link to the drill bit type for the 2nd bit. http://www.norsemandrill.com/Jobber_Facep5.html

Nice find JayL,, I picked up one of each. I already own a set of each and these are awesome bits. Haven't broken one yet and the case is super handy. Quality made in USA product.

I broke down and ordered the Moly set too. Tried offering $45, he countered at $50, so that seems to be the price.

Saw the first set in my local bolt and screw place for $150.00. I bought a couple of individual bits for a project I'm working on since I didn't want to spend that much for the set. They are great bits. I made the $50 offer. Thank you JayL for posting this!!!

I would get the first link/super premium one. That is their top of the line bits. I could do without the three flat shanks for better metal!

My $50 offer is still sitting there. He may be waiting to see how many sell at the BIN price before accepting anymore offers.

I decided to just buy it now on ones with the 3 flats before everything got pulled. WAY cheaper than any place else that I saw even at the $59.99 and they are super good bits.

No willpower! I'm sitting tight at $50 although I'll probably regret it.

I guess mine was rejected because they ran out. I'm trying for the other set!

"I really did need a set of bits, so technically this isn't am impulse purchase, honey." Just practicing!

Thanks, Yes, I guess the ones without the three flat shanks that are better metal are gone.
I just offered $51.00 for the other set, the HHS one with the flats.
Wating for the reply.
Did anyone write him about if there are any more of the better metal ones?

I just put in offers on 3 items and he responded as they arrived. It isn't too often that ebay vendors sit at the computer and respond that fast. I also did buy a moly bit set at full price yesterday. One heckuva deal as far as I'm concerned!!!

Um, they can certainly be sharpened, they just won't be TiN coated on the cutting edges anymore. The coating will still be on the flutes, which is at least something.
