Um, they can certainly be sharpened, they just won't be TiN coated on the cutting edges anymore. The coating will still be on the flutes, which is at least something.

I guess I should of been more specific, if they're Ti coated (which is all I was trying to confirm), they usually rely on the coating to do the brunt of the cutting and wear resistance so sharpening them usually isn't worth the effort.

If that's what you believe, please send all your USA made chipped, coated bits to me for disposal.
They are HSS, coated or not. Sharpening is always possible, and usually worth the effort.

Damnit! I hope he posts more of the high moly bits. Or maybe I'll get real lucky and he'll post up the high moly screw machine bits.

Tracking says that the first 2 sets I ordered already reached my CA forwarder.

Other items on order already marked as shipped and waiting for dispatch.

I hope members will post pics of the GF-29Ps. Just wanted to take a closer look then probably grab a few more sets.

I could use some cobalt bits too but am not sure what type and where these ones below were manufactured. The metal casing looks like a Huot to me.

I only buy Cobalt bits now. They can be reground and instantly are like new again.

I picked up a 29 pc 1/16"-1/2" cobalt set, made in USA, from Sears for 69.99 which I felt was an excellent deal.

FWIW, that set you linked to, is a USA index (I think he means SAE, or possibly the metal box is US) from what I can tell. Probably el cheapo HF bits.

Yes ... if the bits were USA made then his ad would be screaming about it.

Be careful on the Hilti bits... it says they're split point, but the ones in the picture are most definitely not. If that's what that set is supposed to contain, there's some chance that it's just a hilti index w/some random bits loaded in it.

Sorry for the question, but I'm a drill bit novice. Are the OP drill bits used for wood or metal or plastic or everything (obviously not concrete though)?

I got my Norseman drill bits today, look to be the exact same as the set I paid almost $100 at Harry Epstein,, not that Harry Epstein doens't have some really good stuff at good prices, but these Norseman bits are worth every penny of the $50 I paid for them.

FYI: If people are still interested, I made the $50 offer like others but got a counter offer of $55. I took it since it is still a great deal.

Pretty much metal, but could be used on plastic and wood.

I was declined on the Hilti at $46 +
9.80 shipping

He must be selling a lot, and beginning to think his prices are low enough already?

I got my two sets today. They are perfect drills. Sharp, well-packed, oiled, and did I mention sharp?
How were they shipped, I really thought mine would be here by now, but I don't see them.
Ready to check with the neighbors.
The one next to me, I told them my name, but I already caught them writing "Return to sender" on My mail.
Another time 2 packages sat in front of there house for 3 days.
I just happened to look at them, here they were mine. :willy_nil

There should be tracking info on your Ebay page. Mine are shipping USPS. I would assume they all are.

Mine arrived today. They were shipped in a USPS large envelope. Aside from being the sharpest tools in my garage, the case they come in is pretty good. it has a large rubber seal that makes the case water tight. Should cut down on any issues with moisture/rust. At $50 a set these were maybe the best deal I have had on tools this year.

Same for me. The envelope was half torn open on mine, but the case still looks great.
