I talked to Bob at Grizzly, he is Tech Support for metal working machines. He was a very nice and I felt honest guy! He seemed to know his stuff about sharpening drill bits, but it had been a long time since he had used one of these attachment's and didn't have one in front of him. He pulled up the instructions on his computer and we went through them a step at a time. He's a grind freehand kind of guy. He agreed that the instrutions weren't very good! The best we could come up with was that when you set the bit up in the jig and it tells you to clamp it down, that you should just tighten that clamp enough to hold the bit down and it will still move when you advance it with the feed screw! When it say's to move the attachment away from the grinding wheel that you should just pivot it so the tip's not close to the wheel. To grind the second lip you lock the cradle in place with the lock screw, loosen the clamp all the way and rotate and rotate the bit to the other side. Then back off the feed screw and set the bit up on the lip rest like it was on the other side and only tighten the clamp enough to hold the bit down again. Now you can use the feed screw to advance bit as needed and the lock screw will be your limit that you can advance, so you keep both sides the same length. I'll give this a try later, it makes more since than the way I was seeing it! I want to thank all of you for you help and idea's and taking the time to reply trying to help me out!
