Where is a place to get good drill bits. Not necessarily expensive drill bits but decent.

Personally I bought

with these for back ups since I always break the small ones

and these for my wood stuff since I dont need 1/64 precision in wood

I havent used any yet, but they appear nice in quality and all have stickers made in usa by union labor...Im still not sure if thats a good thing or not,lol.

I just buy cheap bits and keep em sharp with my Drill Doctor.

I have to second the titanium bits. I use the DeWalt and the Craftsman bits and they work great. When they dull, they go in the Drill Doctor.

I get much of my lathe and Mill tools and bits from those 4 retailers.. but they have good prices on drill bits as well,,, and often sales or free shipping if you sign up for the emails and catalogs.

So the Drill Doctor works good?

After many years of bragging that I knew how to sharpen drill bits that then evolved into my saying that drill bits were too cheap to sharpen, I broke down and in a fit of weakness, bought a Drill Doctor...

Fired it up and was not pleased by the results and went back to hand sharpening, or using my 1950s technology Sears sharpener when one day, I realized I was using the damned Drill Doctor wrong!

I'm not gonna say it's perfect but it does a pretty darned good job of sharpening drill bits. It's fast and does a good enough job for me.

I'll continue to buy lots of bits and intend to continue throwing them away but for when I need a sharp bit now, I know I can spend a minute or two and have one that will do the job.

Money well spent.
