Drill chuck for impact driver ?

Got a Milwaukee Fuel little impact driver w a new drill.

Want to get drill chuck for light duty cabinet woodworking w standard twist bits, sub 1/8 are round, larger have 3 flats.

Recommend any particular one ?

3/8 would be more than enough, will normally be using sub 1/4" bits.

Do round bits work w this or is there a slippage problem?

Prefer USA made.

Yes, I know I can buy bits w the hex drive.

Why, oh why wouldn't you put both on the bench, 'n not have to keep changin' bits in the driver,..??..??..??

I AM going to use them both "same" time on bench... One to drill like clearance holes, and the other to drive, and stuff like that.

Just want the flexibility of options.

So, I wanna try to drill w the impact... like 1/8" holes through like 3/4" wood for general example.

Makita and Dewalt both make one. Don't know coo on either though.
The Makita is kinda different in that you need the impact action to open it.

Ya, looks like 5 zillion on Amazon, all obviously Chinese...

And the Mak, Dewalt and keyed milwaukee are probably also.

Keyless is nice... IF it works as should w sweaty hands and typical ******** quality knurling...

I like sharp and deep knurling that rips the skin not this barely knurled **** nowadays.

The older Makita hex drive 3/8" capacity chucks are Japanese, find on Ebay.

But do consider the inherent wobble with hex drive, combined with small diameter drill bits makes for a sloppy hole. Maybe OK for general purpose, but not great for woodworking/precision applications.

Is it to late for the 4-1 combo from Milwaukee? Looks like very nice set.

Axtually - I have a half dozen older dead mak and bosch drills w good chucks...

How hard to find adapter to hex ?

Gotta dig em out and look at remove chuck.

Are all left hand screw?

Because I have a guy that I have to work with that has been whining for us to get this... and it's a cheap way to keep him happy.

I believe both the Makita and Dewalt impact chuck adapters are made by Yukiwa, possibly in Japan.
From what I’ve read, it dounds like both can get bits stuck in them, maybe because the chucks are “self tightening” to prevent slippage.
