I'm trying to find a thread on adapting drill chucks to bench or pedestal grinders, I think it was on GJ. Too many other threads with chucks and grinders on here. Do any of you remember the thread?
FWIW, I once bought a grinder which had a chuck on one side. It was a terrible idea. The extra length of the chuck made everything mounted on it loose and wobbly. Then, chucks are not designed for side thrust; they have very strength and stability sideways , which is the only way they can be used on a grinder. Anything held in a side push is likely to come loose and fly at you.I want to put chucks on both sides of an old cheap chicom grinder to make it easier to swap buffing wheels, wire wheels.
