First you would want to know the size of the hole and number teeth per inch in the chuck. I would think that would help and you can certainly measure both

I think they are fairly standard for the most part and vary based on the size of the chuck (1/2" vs. 3/8") so if I were you I would go to the local hardware store and buy a 1/2" chuck key to see if it fits.

Thanks for all your help, I am going to measure the hole size and count the teeth and see what happens.

Not even close to standard. Not that I am so smart but I likely have 50 + keys I have gotten out of tool boxes and box lots and there are a lot of variations. Not that some don't kinda work and cross over but to get one that fits right, you need to be exact.

Now there is likely 4 or 5 main ones though.

The easy way to do this would be to pull the chuck off and take it to an industrial supply house. They should be able to help you.
