I ve been using my Craftsman cordless keyless chuck drill quite a bit of late and have become very frustrated with it.The dang chuck (keyless) loosens way to much on its own.I ve tried several methods of tightening this thing and nothing will keep it tight for more than 15-20 secs of use.Is there a keyed chuck I can put on it as I love the drill?

You should be able to remove the chuck and replace it. Google "drill chuck removal" and go from there.

there will be a screw inside the chuck ( LH thread) that is torx, phillipps or allen . remove that. put in a good size allen wrench into the chuck ( say 3/8") and tighten. give it a good fast whack with a hammer counterclockwise & that should free the chuck to unthread it.
