I have a 3/8" electric drill. I need to drill some larger holes than the 3/8" chuck can hold. Can a 1/2' drill chuck be used in place of the 3/8" ?

Used corded drills are so cheap it is less costly to just buy a bigger drill than a new chuck.

Agreed, even new corded 1/2" hammer drills can be had for $40. Not big name brands but will have more torque than a 3/8.

I agree with the comment about just getting a larger chuck size drill with a cord. They are so cheap these days why bother?

It sure would be easier than buying special bits or changing out a chuck on a drill.
