How do we size these?

On the same front but offside, where can I get new ones? Seems I have several non-Cordless drills around but no very few chucks. Hate using the wrong one.

Do you mean chuck keys? To size the key, I believe its the diameter of the pilot hole of the chuck. (eg 1/4" is common) Princess auto will have them, or you can get them online anywhere.

Here's an example one-size fits all:

I once lost a half day because of a lost chuck key for a cordless drill. After trying three stores, when I found a store that had a key that fit my drill in the fourth store. I bought two keys, the one I needed to get back to work and a spare.

To find the size chuck key you need, stick a drill bit in the chuck key slot until you find the size that fits well.

If the chuck is original to the machine and you know the model number, you can often find the chuck key on eReplacementParts.com

If you have multiple chuck keys, and keep forgetting which ones go to which machine, besides the obvious solutions like taping it to the power cord or sticking it magnetically to the press, I like to color code things. A bit of nail polish on the chuck and key tells you which key goes to which chuck.

Some good tips there Paul. I often forget about using a drill bit to size a bore.

I've heard of wood chucks causing problems for people - like that commercial where they chuck wood but never a drill chuck. Must be awful to see drills being flung about here and there. :)

Do the "4 way" chuck keys have the "sizes" on each of the keys? Reason I ask is that having one as a backup might be handy and it would give you the size so you can acquire the "single".
