Love mine! Probably sharpened 500 bits. I don't worry about coloring the bit so I can get the angle perfect or any of those fancy, schmancy tips..........I just sharpen the suckers! It ain't rocket science! I spin each bit probably 18-20 times to make sure. After that, they always cut like a hot knife through butter!

I need some help.

I just bought a DD250 off of craigslist for $10.

Did about a dozen dull bits. Worked great for ten of them.

However, I have a 5/32 and a 1/4 that it just completely buggered up.

The 5/32, no matter how careful I am with aligning it, comes out with a chisel-edge angle of ZERO, and the drill point angle is something stupid, like near 170 degrees.

The 1/4, it seems that the relief - it cuts into the inner part to the opposite cutting angle.

I think I did the 5/32 about 5 times and the 1/4 three times before giving up and gooing to hand grinding them. I'm actually getting decently good at hand grinding but it takes me a lot longer than the DD as well as me taking off more material each time.

The rest of the bits it did worked great from 3/32 up to 17/64.

I'm pretty sure my issue is with the alignment process - except that I swear I'm doing the 5/32 and the 1/4 the same was as the others.

Tips? Help?
