Drill/Mill machine

Just got a mill/drill machine. What might be a good book for beginner and or a first project.

If anyone lives nearby they can use my machine so long as I can watch and learn.

What's some Utube
Get some scrap aluminum as a start as aluminum is much easier to machine.

I'd also start with youtube videos. Topics to start with would be;

Tramming the head (if your machine has tilt and nod),
Squaring a vise,
Milling a block square and parallel,
Spotting and drilling.

That's basically machine shop level 1 in trade school. Virtually everything on a mill starts from those fundamentals and builds to more difficult stuff.

The above is a perty good book for the beginner with a M/D. There are also a lot of other books at the village press that have projects and other beginner advise.
