Consider a post mounted drill press clamp like the vintage Welch (Northrop patent, see photo) . All the Welch ones I have seen were 2.75". There is a company now making new post clamps similar to the Welch clamps in the link below.

I'll chime in. McMaster has them. I've made them from a piece of wood with a threaded insert or nut epoxied in.

Yep, I buy a lot of odd ball hardware on Amazon too.
You can find large quantities too, for way less than hardware store typical 4 pc blister packs.

I am of no help. When I bought my Powermatic 1200 I was surprised when it had a couple vices, two drill chucks and this t-slot clamp.

The seller didn't know or seem to care what he had, he just wanted it gone and I wasn't arguing! I would have paid him twice of what he sold it for. Funny thing was he advertised it before at a much higher price. I asked for more info and he said he would get back with me and never did. A month later it was advertised again for almost half of his original price. I scrambled to buy it! Then I get there and piled up on the drill press table is the two vises, chucks and clamps and he just said this all goes with! I could not get the money out fast enough! I never plugged it in. I didn't know if it ran or if any bearings were shot. Turned out to be a great buy. It worked fine when I got it home.
