Drill press column mounted chip tray home made project

The standard drill press table on my old Rockwell 15" drill press had a bunch of holes and slots for mounting vises. This always resulted in most of my drilled chips ending up on the floor much to my annoyance.

I wanted to attach a cheap Amazon rimmed baking sheet below my drill press table to catch all the drilled chips. I also wanted it easy to tilt for dumping chips into a trash can.

So one evening I put together a Atlas drill press table bracket for a 2.75" pole with a Craftsman 100 bracket clamp. The Craftsman steel clamp griped much more firmly than the original Atlas pot metal clamp. To this I attached a machined metal L bracket that could pivot when the Atlas locking pin was removed.

I was just about to order the cheap Amazon rimmed baking sheet when I found a NOS Rockwell production drill press table with the complete table raising mechanism. After buying the production table, I no longer needed the chip tray project

Hopefully someone else can use it.
