I want to get a dedicated set of drill bits for my Clausing drill press when I get it up and running... I'd like to have Fractional, Letter, and numbered sizes, but I guess if I be real with myself, I doubt I'll be ever drilling precision holes in anything, it's always a possibility in the future, but not right now, so Fractional in 64ths will work.
Who has a good quality bit index up to .5" and maybe even another that goes above that? I'd like a metal folding box for them to go in as well. I'll probably be drilling mostly regular steel, with some Aluminum mixed in there occasionally.

What is everyone running?

I'd get a fractional/wire gage/letter set that you can afford, and replace the common bits (that you'll wear out fast) with nice american ones.

I do not have one, but if you go through a lot of metal, I would say get some cutting fluid and a drill doctor. I go through a lot of drill bits because the closest thing I have right now to a press is a corded drill. You can imagine how good it is at going through metal with the high RPMs.
