Drill press info

Im looking at picking up this used drill press but can find very little info on it online. Its a Tradesman pro 8106 16spd press. All i have is a picture right now from the owner. They claim it was $600 new but im not sure before i lowball them haha.

It looks like a generic Asian DP which was sold under a gazillion different names.

The older Taiwan machines are pretty good but they got worse when they went to China. I'd be more confident buying one that's Jet or Delta vs no name.

It seems like $150 + or - is around market price. Just check it out really good. There's usually plenty to choose from on CL so be picky on condition and price.

The head looks quite similar to the 'Ryobi Industrial' 16 spd bench drill press I bought about 7 yrs ago. Mine is nothing fancy but it has done a reasonable amount of work now with no problems apart from having to replace the belts a while back.

No part of it oozes quality imo. Hard to say whether to pass or not when you don't say their asking price.

Here is more info off the I.D plate. They are asking $250 for it. 6ft standup and comes with a table vise for it. Im leary about it i agree.
