Well, looking into the situation a bit more, it wasn't as bad as it seemed.

Congrats on scoring a nice old drill press and table. It's really good to see someone with the tenacity, intelligence and ingenuity to pull a deal like this off.

Either the column hole isn't the right size, the table isn't the right size, it's got a horrible arc of shame, or the price plus shipping is three to four times what I paid for the press.

If I don't find a table in the next weeks or so, I'll part it out. Did not think it was that big of an issue to find a table.

I guess you're glad you had a little patience. :) Nice work on getting the table fitted, it's all downhill from there. You should be up and running in no time.

I'm already thinking about color. Been looking at several restos and am not thrilled with the very pale green often seen, nor do I want to paint it battleship gray. Maybe the hammered green, but on the fence about that.

Hey, calling all (not just Walker Turner) vintage table saw restorations, post your pics here so I can get some ideas for paint!

Thanks for all your support guys!

Dark gray with copper highlights...

It's subjective, but I also like old machinery in dark gray. I'd only highlight the Buffalo and motor band if that one were mine. (the copper is overdone IMHO).

Since I have now bought the Walker Turner press, this thread has run it's course. Once I get a clear space in my workshop for the restoration process, I will be documenting it here on the forum.

Thanks for all your input. Hope to get more ideas and inspiration from all when I actually start the restoration.

Cheers

Eric
