I have a craftsman drill press floor model and the bottom is not flat or the floor is not flat. I don't want to permanenly mount it to the floor. I am looking for good way to get it to quit walking around. I have tried shims but the drillpress is too easy to rock it around and the shim gets moved. I thought of bulding a plywood base but I thought one of you guys would have a great design and I could just copy it.
Thanks
Phil

What I did was take a 2 2X4's, bult the drill press to it so the 2X4 sticks out like 6" on each side of the drill press (giving it a wider base to start with) So basically 1 2X4 spans across the front 2 holes of the drill press base, and the other 2X4 spans across the rear 2 holes of the base and sticks out 6" each side. Than I took 4 hockey pucks and drilled holes in them, counter sinking a bolt into the puck and threading it into the 4 sections of the 2X4 that sticks out from the base of the drill press. This gives you the ability to screen in and unscrew the hockey puck to make it level with the floor as you need, also as an added bonus they **** up the vibration making for a really smooth, and quiet running drill press.
