Drill press side cabinet project

As I rearranged some things a while back, I ended up moving my drill press away from my lathe. Previously, I had a roll cabinet between them holding accessories and supplies for both.
I needed to come up with something for the drill press accessories, drill bits, etc.
I got a HF side cabinet and built a wheeled base to set it on and added two of the magnetic side shelves.
Photos attached.

Well done! pics of the drill press?

Great project. I can’t tell from the photos but are the front casters locking?

I assume this is for a bench top drill press?

First off, thank you for the kind complements!

The drill press is a Craftsman Commercial 15 1/2” model 113.24611. I bought it at the estate auction of an avid woodworker.
According to the catalogs from back then, you could buy it with or without motor. Apparently this one was bought without motor and someone installed a Dayton 3/4 hp motor on it.
You’ll note from the photos that I do have a small tray clamped to the column, but that’s a joke as far as being able to hold much stuff.
Also, I had unused vises sitting down on the base plate, and they were always covered in shavings and debris.

As far as the front casters, they are 3 1/2” from HF. They are not locking. Thus far, doesn’t seem like it has any desire to run off without locking casters!:fingersx:

Mkat, I like the way you made the base! No mitering corners on an angle iron frame.

Thanks gearhead, I was trying to build it as quick as possible. I had the exact same problem as IMCA38 I moved my drillpress away from the lathe and got tired of walking back and forth.

I’m curious how your cabinet opens up. It looks like it has some kind of hinge in the middle?? :headscrat

It does have a hinge in the middle, the two halves flip together and then slide in to reveal the drawers. It's an old Beach side box that used to be my pops'.
