I have a heavy cast iron stand that had a vise and a arbor press mounted on top. It appears to be very similar to a Edlund style drill press base. It has a counter weight inside to offset the drill table weight, and a vertical dove tail way. Does anyone recognize this stand? Attached are the Pics.

Thanks,

That may also fit a buffalo model 14. I have a bench model but they also put the head on a floor base. I don't have pictures handy to compare though.

picture in the drill press thread.

Larry g and Zeppe807,
Thanks for contributing, Larry anyway you could send out the hole centers off the base mounting? If this stand is a Buffalo model, someone out there may be looking for this base. Seems a waste to use it as a vise stand.

I checked the spacing and it was 5.25" wide and 4" front to back. I also did a bit of looking and found a picture on e-bay that showed the base as having a crank on the table so maybe not a Buffalo.

The table had a crank under it. The cast hole was broken, and the rod was missing when I got it. I will probably repair it and make a handle if it turns out to be a Buffalo. Thanks for the measurements, I will check into it this weekend.

maybe not for a drill press, maybe for a mortiser? The green sortof looks like an oxidized faded oliver color. But then again the table does have a trough for catching coolant.
Close but not really, still has v-ways and a table though:
