Get a basic 27" bottom box and mount it to that.
Put all the drill press accessories and bits in the drawers

When you mount it you want to mount it to one side so you can pivot the head over for drilling the end of long things

Either build a base cabinet the height you would like and put in drawers and such for storage or like the other poster said pickup a 26-27 inch bottom unit and go from there. Use the space wisely.

I will post pics of my setup when I get home this evening.

The smaller one is better for me

If a buy a floor model it's just wasting space

I'm going to build a cabinet with a drawer and the drill press can sit on it

About 35 years ago, I took a 30 gallon barrel and cut an opening in the side.. Then cut a round piece of 3/4" plywood to fit into the top lip and secured it with a few carriage bolts..
Painted it blue, let the paint dry, bolted the drill press on top and filled the barrel with a bunch on rocks.. That ****** stays put when in use... To move it, I just tilt it a little and moves like any other barrel... Drill press is a top heavy item; I like the weight on the bottom.....
My Columbia 4" vise is mounted on a 15 gallon barrel in the same manner, only with a rectangular steel plate welded to the barrel top..
Rather than rocks, the barrels can be used to hold those extra pieces of iron and steel that are so often saved under the workbench..
