Drill Press Vise Identification

I left a post of the Vises of Garage Journal post, but I wanted to maximize visbility.

Can you anyone give me any info about this vise? The seller thinks it's imported, says there isn't much for markings on it. He said he would take $50.

It may not have been a wilton specifically but there are a lot of these generic Taiwan cam style vises. This one looks like a closer casting to the one you posted.

Not Wilton. The casting is wrong. I agree it's an import, but from there it could be one of many different brands. As an example, here's a pic of the grizzly model.

I would add that I wouldn't give 50 for an unknown vise like that. Grainger sells one (not exactly the same) for less than that new.

The OP posted a 6 inch wide vise. The model you linked is 3 inches wide. There will obviously be a price difference. You'll pay a premium for one branded Wilton ETC. for sure but even the lowliest copy will likely run more than $50 for a 6" model.

Didn't notice that particular one was 3 but the grizzly was 6 and less than 3x the seller's asking price. For an unknown I still wouldn't do it, but I'm not really after one either.

got be careful because harbor freight sells one, which is not a bad vice but only worth $20
