drill press vise

in a earlier post i asked how do i free up a really rusted vise,, i got several GREAT answers and i finally got it free and usable - My question now is what do i use to remove all the " rust blaster " and the white grease, how do i clean it off so it is usable and doesn't get my work all YUCKIE,,,,,,, i wipe the stuff off but what do i use to keep it clean and workable?

super clean or purple power or similar to clean off the mess, WD-40 or similar to keep it usable and clean.

If it is still rusty, remove that with electrolysis.
