Is it perfectly acceptable to use any non impact socket on an adapter in a drill?

I do cringe when I see high torque impacts with chrome sockets!

The drill is probably not going to have any more force than putting something on or off by handwith a ratchet

The bigger problem is it isn't reactionless. Some of the modern cordless drills can do over 100 ft lbs. That's enough to break your wrist if you allow it to twist

Yes, but it depends on the application.

If it's the choice between using a non-impact 1/2" drive 1" socket on an impact wrench, or via a 1/4" hex to 1/2" drive adapter with a drill, I would probably try the impact first.

Any tool that doesn't impact the socket will be fine with chrome.

Personally i find drills a poor choice for running any sockets, they're no smaller than a decent impact and can twist your wrist easy, same with the new more powerful air ratchets.
