drill weep hole in LB?

Yes i know that's a sprinkler pipe, just mocking up.

I have LB pointing UP towards a sub panel (bottom entry, exterior panel)


Is it ok to drill a couple small holes on the bottom of the LB?

Technically not ok wrt the listing, but frequently done. One hole, 1/16 - 3/32" is plenty. Maybe even duct seal into the horizontal conduit.

I never have, but I have debated doing it before. Most of the time I end up with a coupling so it isn't a problem. I have seen conduit split open from water freezing inside and seen it rust out at low points so it is a concern.

drilling 1/8 holes in lb fittings has been long in practice. ec&m even wrote an article on it some years ago.

When my solar system was installed, weep holes were drilled.

My LB with the network and old cable feed has a weep hole - put there by the weed eater.

Another option for conduit systems is to install a condensate drain fitting. Crouse-Hinds makes them, I assume the other manufacturers make them as well.
