Received a set of Drillhog bits today, they look nice, and have a "lifetime warranty".
Instructions to register warranty are to go to their website, enter name, email, and serial number of the kit. I hit the register button, and.... nothing.

There is no contact info on their website or the packaging, other than their postal address in Rancho Cucamonga, CA.

Anyone ever talk to these folks in person, or via email? Anyone have experiences (positive or negative) with them in the past?

Resurrecting this thread to provide my experience with Drill Hog seeking replacements of some broken M42 cobalt bits:

I've contacted them/him at least a dozen times both via the 'Contact Us' on the website and via an email address that I had from communication with a guy who identified himself only as 'Mike'. The email address is "[email protected]". ALL of my communications have gone unanswered or have been ignored. Absolutely no customer satisfaction of any kind. Their behavior is embarrassing.
I would strongly recommend staying away from Drill Hog if you plan on utilizing their (bogus) "lifetime warranty".

Don't bother, there are a lot of better bits out there, and I seriously doubt they are actually US made at all.

SMH....It should come as no surprise that a company too ignorant to set up a proper email address isn't standing behind their product.

People, whenever you find a "company" that uses a gmail address, you're more than likely not dealing with an entity serious about their business. Setting up an email address using a registered URL is child's play and costs nothing, so why don't they do it? Because they're a) not smart enough, or b) don't give a rat's a** and figure their clientele won't notice or care. Do either of those strike you as the kind of company you want to give your hard-earned money to?

To me, it's a huge red flag.

There was another thread on these eBay drill bits a couple of years ago, with essentially the same theme.

Some guys had success just sending the broken bits in the mail. Attitude was “what is there to lose?”

Some got replacement bits in the mail a few weeks later, but never any communication.....

Just bite the bullet and buy Norseman.

Not sure if there is much of a bullet to bite....prices are about the same if I remember

I've seen a few people shilling this Drillhog garbage on YouTube, probably because they got free **** from the company. This guy is probably one of the worst, he has several videos where he shamelessly shills for Drill Hog and even had a video where he tried to defend their warranty process. Truly pathetic.

The warranty appears not worth wiping with, and I wouldn't take the stuff if someone gave it to me, sorry.

the last premium/USA.... individual replacement bits I bought from McMaster were Norseman. I've also bought lots of Norseman from HJE.

Otherwise, I'm totally obsessed with the genius marketing name of "pig steel"....

Also, drill bits shouldn't be considered a warranty item- they dull, you sharpen them; they break, you replace them on your $.

Man I am glad I have Numerous sets of Viking and triumph drill bits. Bought a drill doctor to sharpen bits when dull. Buy new bits if they break. If I had bought the pig bits Believing I had a great warranty. I likely couldnt sleep.

One of my techs bought the drill Hog bits and they seemed basically indestructible. I have several very good drill bit sets. I prefer my Viking bits for most stuff, but for really hard stuff I have reached for the Drill Hog Set several times. (My friend passed away in 2021 and we didn't realize that his drill bit set was laying on the drill press for about 5 months). The Drill Hog set is warranted, but only if you register them within 30 days of ordering, and only if they are genuine Drill Hog, (lots of copy cats that are not original) I did go to www.hogwarranty.com and they actually warranted the only bit that I had ever broken in honor of my friend. I would buy from them. The bits come with a warranty card with a serial number. If you have that number they seem like a stand-up company!

Drillhog doesnt make anything, nor do they appear to be an actual company with a place of business.
Their address is a post box in California, where no drill bits that i know of are made.

There's no evidence their drill bits are made in the USA either. The holder they use is made in the USA, that's about it as far as markings go.
Seeing these less than up front details, it would be no surprise if their bits were made in China or elsewhere.

How they still get business I have no idea

There are numerous high quality bits out there including Viking/Norseman and Kwik-Kut but for the money it's really hard to beat the ASTRO Turbo bits.

I'll second @pcdoc2001 on the Drill Hog bits. I own both Norseman M7 and Drill Hog (the Cobalt M42 ones) and the latter cut much better than the Norseman bits in mild, tool, and stainless steel as well as cast iron. I imagine the Norseman Cobalt M42 ones would be great also, but it's hard to imagine anything better than the Drill Hogs. Also, Drill Hog seems to have more sizes in the Silver and Deming bits in the 1/2 to 1" range (by 64ths) than Norseman. I had to drill some 30 1/2-inch holes in a steel beam with 1/2-inch webbing overhead, so there was no way to cool the bits. The Drill Hog bit cut the last as quick and clean as the first and did not need to be sharpened and hardly showed any sign of use.

I have used Norseman bits for many years as they are about as good as I could find and are much better than box store brands. I received a set of the Cobalt M42 bits from 1/16" to 1/2" by 64ths (which came with a metal tag identifying them as MADE in USA) from my brother for Christmas a few years ago and I hardly use the Norseman bits anymore. I will pass the Norseman bits on to my son as he is using a 50-year-old set of rarely used Hanson bits that I inherited from my dad so he can keep one set at home and the other one in his work truck.

Again, I am not knocking the Norseman brand and I know that some companies play games with the COO labels, I'm just saying the Cobalt M42 Drill Hog sets that I have used are pretty darn good!
