size and what drill you will be using would make a differences.... say if you are using a sds max with a 1" 4 cutter drill bit that can cut through re-bars., and uses lots of water for coolant and lubricant... it can drill a 1" hole x 10" deep in no time. easily.... but if you were to use a battery operated hammer drill.... good luck.

HD rents those drills if you don't want to buy them.... and internet has better price on the bits.... just stick with good name brands like dewalt, hitachi, bosche, even hilti if you wanted to be spendy etc... and you will be fine.

Thanks fellas. I have a plug in Dewalt SDS hammer/rotary drill. I figured hitting rebar may make the drill walk.
