Need to make some 3/4 " holes 4" deep. Will use a Hilti drill. #6 steel mesh in slab. What will happen if bit runs into mesh?

Hiltis eat mesh and rebar like it ain't even there.

Just keep both hands on the drill, and DON'T PUSH the Hilti.

A rotary hammer will drive the bit through the mesh and will attempt to drill it through the rebar too. It's not the Hammer that's the problem it's the bits. Good bits are $$$ and they are NOT made to eat rebar. Normally when your drilling and you hit a bar ( small ones 3/8"- you might not feel but the big ones 3/4"+ you will) you should stop and change bits to a rebar cutting bit. If you don't you will destroy the normal bit in short order ( it seems to break the carbide or at least chip it bad)
