Drilling into concrete when it's winter time (max jax)

This may be a silly question but I'm asking it anyways.

Is there a down fall to drilling in my garage slab here shortly while the temps are sometimes hitting 20 degrees or colder? I want to bring my maxjax up finally from the basement and start placement in the garage, and if I get the time/balls to do the install I want to start drilling possibly the next week. Is there a problem with doing so when it's winter time for the concrete? Will it chip more or potentially crack more since it's cold? I just imagine a piece of material that if it's super cold out is more likely to crack than if it's warm. Or should I wait until spring Summer when the slab is warm?

I think that is my main question as of right now and I didn't see anyone ask it with all 18 threads I have bookmarked on the maxjax and installs..etc.

Thanks,
-Nigel

We build bridges here in Canada all winter and we often drill though concrete piers to attach them to the bedrock without issue. However the concrete which we use is at minimum 30mpa. I do not think that you will have any issues but a quick call to your concrete supplier should be able to spec your mix and confirm your question.

The only issue I see would be if you are using a chemical type of anchor to bolt down your lift. I believe the concrete has to be above a certain temperature for them to set up properly.

If you're using a mechanical type of anchor, you're good to go.

As cfr731 said, No problem with drilling just make sure if you are using a epoxy that it is rated for the temp you have.

Go ahead and drill, no problems at all. Just a tip on drilling here. Do NOT let the drill wobble at all. Have a FIRM grip on it or it will "oval" your hole. Nothing to it.

Drilling is no problem, but the holes will expand slightly when the concrete warms in the summer. With the MaxJax, this could be an issue.

In Northern Virginia, you should have a good warm spell at some point soon, right?
