Drilling vs Engineer Hammer

In the market for one of these. They seem to serve the same general usage, any preferences between the two? Thanks in advance.

Drilling hammers should have a soft face, for hitting hardened tools.
Engineer hammers may be fully hard, but also have longer handles that I find makes them more difficult to control, but that's a matter of personal taste.

It does seem like it would be easier to control the drilling hammer versus the engineer hammer with the longer handle.

Sears sells a Craftsman Engineer's hammer with a shorter handle, same length as a drilling hammer. I just picked one up.

i really like my craftsman AND HF drilling hammers. my go to hammers for beating on rusty ****.

I hardly use anything but my CM drilling hammer at work and my Estwing drilling hammer is never far from me when Im doing some pounding at home. (snicker)

However there have been times I thought an Engineers hammer or Blacksmith hammer would have been a better tool for the job.

So, as usual, get both.
