Drip Irrigation Troubles...Experts?!?

Not a garage question...but I am using tools from the garage to try and fix!

So I have a DIG drip system around the yard that I put in 8 years ago. It runs off of a sprinkler valve with a pressure reducer.

It has run flawlessly up until starting the system up this spring.

I have checked the sprinkler valve, diaphragm and solenoid and they are working fine. Water is leaving the valve, but is not getting to the drip tubing. Do the pressure reducing valves ever fail?

I will start digging things up this weekend to see where the problem might be, but thought I'd check with you all first for any brilliant ideas.

Cheers,
Tim

does the pressure regulator also have a filter?

Can you hard the water running through the valave? if so there could be a clog in the pressure regulator or the lines.

Sounds like the sprinkler valve or pressure regulator has gone bad. Both have diaphrams that will age and stick. Probably would be a good idea to replace them both while you have them dug up. About 8 - 10 years is the life of them so do them now.

I disassembled the sprinkler valve and replaced the diaphragm already to be sure that was not the problem and the valve is passing water.

The pressure regulator for the drip system is buried up by the house, so I will dig that up and check it out...
