Drive point well question

I am not sure that this is the correct section for this but seamed to be the best fit. My shop is 500 feet from my house and does not have water. I have to fill my 300 gal tank in the shop with a hose from the house. I want to have all year round water at the shop with out the hose. I could trench but thats a long trench and here in MI it's got to be deep as well and there's a driveway in the way. So I was thinking of putting in a drive point well but am unsure how they would work in the winter. I am wondering about from the top of the well to inside the shop to keep it from frezeing up in the winter.

Any thoughts or anyone have a drive point well they use in the winter?

I assume you are talking about what we call a sand point?

Remember the pump can only **** water up about 25 feet.

I have one and the pump lives in the heated garage. No problems using it in winter.

Yes I am talking about a sand point well. Do you use yours every day in the winter.

How is it set up from the top of the well to the shop? Is it below grade into the shop?


My problem and what I am wondering about is my shop is finished with floor so getting into the shop is going to be hard with out coming above grade.
