Curious who has a drive through shop or wished they would have had a drive through shop.

I am building a 46x50 shop next year and debating whether I want to do a drive through or not. The door on the east side of the building will be next to the north wall and if I did drive through would be the same but on the west side. That way I would have an "aisle" on the side instead of down the middle.

Please post pictures if you have a similar setup or anything with the drive through. Trying to get ideas on setup.

I have a drive through on one bay in my 24 x 40. Really helps with ventilation, but also for getting non-running vehicles into the bay as I can pull it all the way through.

I'd doing a 36 x40 and it will have it too.

I have a 40x80 drive through and it is great. It saves moving things around many times. I would say 40 ft is just short of deep enough though, since I once tried to put my truck with attached 16ft trailer in for the night. Didn't fit! about 3 ft short.

I like ours! Good cross flow for air & practical. We have 16x8 on the front side(n) and a 12x8 (s)on the back side, east end of the shop has a 16x10. I can get a couple of pictures this evening or in the morning if you would like.

I did drive-thru doors for both bays in my 28x40 double tandem garage. You can't really go anywhere because it opens up into my backyard, but I can open the doors for light and ventilation, and can roll cars back there for washing or storage.

Mine is drive through.

Two 10x10' insulated doors. One manual, the other electric.

Personally I would'nt have built it like that.

I have a 30x60 with a door on each end, it is great for ventilation and i can get cars in either end without moving things around.

Personally I wouldn't want to give away wall space for an additional overhead door unless there was really a need.

For example, if ventilation is the goal, I'd prefer high windows... these can be opened to achieve ventilation, but can be placed high enough that wall space is still usable.

This above. Some of these plans look good but turn out to be an un used expense. I can drive thru some but don't. I drive thru my side and out the front with golf carts a lot.
Mine isn't straight thru, I use it some.

24 x 40 shop. Two 10 x 10 roll up doors and one man door on the front side. No windows. I WISH I HAD PUT ONE DOOR ON THE BACK FOR A DRIVE THROUGH.
