Driver bit set recommendations

I have a small Sunex bit set that came is a nice case and a bit driver mini ratchet. It was a gift and actually has turned out to be extremely handy for around the house maintenance. Although I never use the ratchet, I wanted to reach out and see if anyone had recommendations on a larger all inclusive style bit set, as I would like to buy a similar set for my garage, but have noticed on the few occasions I have used it there, it does not include larger bit sizes needed for bigger projects. Just figured I would ask here, and thanks for your time.

If you're talking about small 1/4" drive bits, the Harbor Freight kit is hard to beat:

It's cheap (less than $10), has just about everything, and is decent quality. If you find that there are certain bits in there that you use frequently you can certainly upgrade to better bits from Wiha or other makers but for most users the HF bits are good enough.

The problem with this set is the hex bits are not the correct size, the security hex is but the regular hex is not...it's not even mismarked SAE/Metric they just aren't the right size. I'm not sure if all of them are but several are, I know the 3mm one is the wrong size for sure. But again, the security bits will work and I think most people are like me and get the hex wrenches most of the time.

The Tekton everybit set is pretty good for the price. The screwdrivers aren't great, they feel cheap but it does ratchet nicely. Right now it's $36 but it goes up to about $42 at times. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008HYVG6I/?tag=atomicindus08-20

...but it is 4 times the cost of the HF set and it doesn't include the 1/4" square(ratchet) to 1/4" hex, but it does include some micro 4mm bits. The quality seems a little better on the Tektons and the hex bits are the correct size.

I have several different bit sets. I do building maintenance and am using them constantly. Without a doubt, I agree with what everyone has said...spend the money and buy Wiha bits if you plan to use a few of them regularly. I bought a little 8 piece Wiha set and I use those bits more than all the others combined.

I also own a similar security set to the HF one that was shown above. It has its place too. When a kid rips a ceiling tile down in the psych unit, it requires a specific torx bit to change it out, so that set has its place too, but I would go through the standard driver bits really fast if I was using them for everyday applications like hanging white boards, etc.
