Driveway staining/coating help needed???

I have a question regarding the driveway outside of my attached garage, I had an issue with a low spot that collected water. I corrected it by basically cutting out a large area and filling it in with new concrete and leveling it off, now its a perfect level but you can obviously tell its been filled in.

I also had to build up the edge of the driveway by an inch in preparation for having the rest of the driveway covered with asphalt, so the area looks a bit frankenstein'ish! My question is, 'what's the best product to either or stain the driveway to make it look all one. I'm looking for something that's going to last?'

I will add, I do plan on going over the whole area with a diamond cutter to make it smooth and clean, ready for product.

BTW, the driveway is wet, much lighter when dry.

my advice would be to see how it looks in the spring - you may not need to do anything at that point. Either the concrete would appear more matched, or you would be used to it by then you are always going to be your hardest critic!

Thanks, I live in Florida, they weather is almost like spring, its patchy and drives me mad, it has three different colors, I just want it more balanced.

It will stand out even more when the rest of the driveway black topped.

I used acid stain in 4 different color in my shop. Even with Ghostshield down I figure sooner or later a stain will show up. With 4 colors and a random pattern that stain when it happens will blend in. Look at stain, either acid or water based should do the trick.

The vendors here carry both styles. With acid it reacts with the minerals in the concrete. So the color will vary because of this. My understanding is the water based can be more consistent but I have no experience with it.

That would be the best way to cover all and make look more homogenous.

Thank you, what would you recommend as a sealer, or do you need a sealer, I would want a dull finish rather than a shiny surface?

Ghostshield 8505 water base or the new 8510 solvent based. I used 8505?and have been totally impressed with the performance.

It will have a sheen, not a gloss.
It will settle over time.

Sheen or gloss add strength to a sealer/coating.

Add our Ultra Fine Soft-Skid for a duller look.

Also.... staining (acid stain or otherwise) and sealing will not make it all one, it will be stained concrete that still looks different.

I just did the same on my new slab and will be applying the same process externally to my apron in the spring.
