Drop light needed

I'm looking for a good drop light for the garage. Most are too cheap or not very bright. Open to corded or cordless. What are you guys using? Thanks

If going corded, look on Ebay for "woodhead" products. They (Daniel Woodhead) mfg for the oil/gas field and everything is bombproof.

Throw a LED lightbulb in there, now its brighter and much less prone to breaking.

NEBO BIG LARRY is my go to 95% of the time. The other 5% is my Yellow Jacket drop light from HD. When I'm working under the hood for an extended period, I use my old SAFTLITE corded fluorescent 30" light. Not the best, but it works. Combine either of those with a good led head lamp and you can see everything.

Don't have a specific model to recommend but I'd forget the incandescent/fluorescent units and go for LED. LED bulbs don't get hot, are way more energy efficient, don't explode when you drop it, work in a wide range of tempuratures, and last damn near forever.

if you have bosch 12v tools I highly recommend the FL12. its a great little light that has a nice wide evenly dispersed light pattern. there are no hot spots and can be used for close up work as well since there is a dimming function.

+1 on big Larry!!!

Thing is bright and works. Wish I didnt have to click 3/times to shut it off.

But magnet is good and strong. I hang it off fenders when doing brake/suspension work. It holds on decent. Works great holding on to hoods. Haven't dropped it yet but it feels beefy. Takes double A battery which I love.

All for $20 ish.

I dropped mine pretty good a few weeks ago and it still works, but sometimes if I shake it or rattle it the modes change.

I hate where the magnet is on those. I have the snapon version and barely use it. I much prefer the red magnetic puck looking one they have. It swivels on a base

I would have to look tomorrow to see what brand it is, but I bought a worklight at my local NAPA recently that I really like. It's about the size of a large magic marker, has a magnet on one end ( a good one) so you can stick it on the fender, hood, etc. and it has a clip so you can clip it to your pocket and use both hands for a job, like changing a tire in the dark. The magnet is strong enough that it will hold the light sticking straight out from what you stick it to. Plus, the LEDs are blindingly bright. It was less than ten bucks, too.

Off the matco truck for about 85 bucks or so. Then napa had the identical light, but blue and with a micro usb port for charging. That one was 35 on a promotional sale. Both of them, awesome lights. Theres a 360 swivel magnetic base and two magnets opposite the light. bright, decent battery life and i've dropped it numerous times and it keeps ticking... As long as it's produced, I won't be buying another kind of light.
