Took off as soon as the light turned green so I could get to a local sale and pick up some quality USA made tools, the loot:

(If you want to bash USA made tools, call me names, talk about the global economy, talk about how great HF is etc., start you're own thread.)

nice score. What did you have to give for the lathe, if you don't mind me asking?

Thanks guys.

Where are these coming from if you don't mind me asking? I'm guess craigslist or pawn shops?

House sale, the guy died and they're demolishing the house so everything had to go.

nice score. What did you have to give for the lathe, if you don't mind me asking?

Not 100% sure if I'm keeping this one or not so I won't post the price, it was a fair price, not a screaming deal but cheaper than you can get a small import one for at HF.

is that a yankie screwdriver? I'v never seen one with a handle like that

Indeed it is, I believe it's an old Craftsman, I've never seen one before either so I picked it up.

You bought all that today? Wow.

What does a "wiggler or center finder" kit do?

All at one sale, the "wiggler or center finder" lets you line things up on your mill table, here's a video that illustrates how to use it:

Nice Haul! Creative thread title too. What does a lathe like that one weigh aproximatly? I'd like to have one, but don't know how I would get it out of the pickup and onto a bench.

Not sure what it weighs, heavy but not to bad (I pulled off the motor & tail stock), I'm able to lift it by myself. You'd probably want one other guy to lift it on to a table/stand but you could do it by yourself if you had to.

:spit:
What's in the "El Producto" box

Dan

Tooling (cutters) for the lathe.

That's a nice haul of good quality tools. The lathe appears to be in good shape, and I suspect it's a 10" swing. Hope all the change gears are with it for threading.

Don't understand your purpose in mentioning HF in the title to incite such discussion, while requesting it not to happen.

Are you in need of some extra attention or something? Feeling depressed and need a fix from GJ?

Just do what eveyone else does for titling recent garage sale purchases and the like, we'd all be better off.

I agree, if you dont want to hear a bunch of Harbor Frieght fans and defenders, dont put it in your title, thats called trolling, plain and simple, kind of a douche-waffle thing to do frankly.

Actually Hiball NO. You are showing your bias again. Mickey knows if he spews his garbage thinking it will just get deleted. So instead he posts a BS title to a post about something totally different. It's his way of slamming HF and getting away with it temporarily.

I'm not gonna argue with you... Everyone here knows you don't let a chance to spew your ******** Bs in every thread you possible can. (A quick search of your posts + locked threads will put you where you need to be) If you want to sit back and plead your innocence on this continuous "back and forth" games, thats your choice. I know differently, You've even went as far to tell me my "opinion" on two harbor freight carts, that "I own" was wrong... I'm not even gonna take the time to search through your past posts to show " Who is biased". If your aware of what Mickey is doing, Why post up? Ignore him.

Biased... Lmao

It isn't trolling, the definition has been misunderstood. Mickey knows what buttons to push for some people. plain and simple.

Wikipedia definition of trolling. "In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts inflammatory,[3]extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as a forum, chat room, or blog, with the primary intent of provoking readers into an emotional response[4] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.[5] While the word troll and its associated verb trolling are associated with Internet discourse, media attention in recent years has made such labels subjective, with trolling describing intentionally provocative actions and harassment outside of an online context. For example, mass media has used troll to describe "a person who defaces Internet tribute sites with the aim of causing grief to families."[6][7]

Mickey was able to get an emotional response as expected, however, this is in the context of the tool forum, therefore, not trolling. :)

It's intentionally and needlessly antagonizing others into pointless argument, with no apparent reason other than an obvious desire to provoke conflict. If that doesn't fit the definition of trolling, perhaps it is time to expand the definition.

This IS a tool forum to debate and discuss the topic of tools. You sound to me like you would rather end freedom of speech that doesn't agree with your opinion, right?

Who cares, this guy has no economical logic at all. He somehow thinks that if you buy a USED US made tool, from a private seller, that you have benefited the US based tool companies who made them. Then when you point out the fallacy in his (il)logical ways, he will spout off about how the money stayed in America, when in reality that person probably spent it on an imported item they wanted.

I buy tools from HF sometime, but mostly from the tool trucks, and since I buy new from the tool trucks, even with my HF purchases considered, I am actually benefiting the US based companies and keeping more money stateside than him. Imagine that...I sometimes patronize HF and yet I do more for the US than him...

Utilize the "ignore member" option if this is place is ruining your life to the point where you need to curse.

Crazy Internets..

I just don't see his point? Pushing peoples buttons (for fun) is baiting plain and simple. Most forums would ban you for baiting people, but when you do it in the majority of your threads that is just too much...

I'm a relaxed guy but wrong is wrong no matter which way you want to spin it. The Mods have some serious patience here, nice job guys!

I would suggest that the people who get upset by ANYONE'S OPINION in a tool forum debating the topic should take a rest, cool off, and realize this is how we all learn. If Mickey knows how to push your buttons, think about that, so you don't get sucked into looking like a jerk. Make your case logically, and then let it go.

With that logic making my case would be to say nothing. I'm entitled to my opinion even if you don't agree with me. I don't start pointless threads over and over just to piss people off.

I'm the jerk?
