Welcome to my dark cave. Its a mess. But I finally have a garage :bounce:
This thread will be my journal through this dungeon...

I have cleaned almost all the junk left by my father in law, and replaced it with a small pile of my own junk that magically appeared around my newly constructed workbench :headscrat

There are two small things left to move from this space, that little skid steer that blocks the entrance (does not have rear wheels) and on the right a 20' long oak beam...

Soon i will construct a wall that goes from the pillar on the left side (first picture) to the concrete blocks in the wall on the right side (second picture). Walls will be finished with mortar and plaster, except the wall that is missing, it will be done with osb and metal drywall profiles (sorry dont know how its called exactly in english)

It will be a slow project as time is scarce but I will try to regularly update

Not much was done, removed the oak beams finally and swept the floor
Next week I will start with the wall construction to separate the space
After sweeping I made a small table that will go beside my bed and hold my phone

Worked some in the garage, organized the bench area, got some vintage stools and a mini fridge, and the project bike got a makeshift workbench (old door and chimney blocks)
Father in law gave me an old italian metal saw that i need to restore...
Worked on the rear suspension of the bike so did not do a lot to the space.

Tell me more about the motorcycle.

Started as a supermoto conversion of a trashed 1984 Honda XL600R, then a friend gave me those gold forks so it kinda went the cafe racer route,
Hyosung gt750 wheels, aprilia rsv mille R ohlins forks, custom shimmed ktm triple clamps, tank is a honda benly replica, i welded the custom subframe, rear suspension is from a aprilia rs125, frame was braced in the rear around the shock, custom aluminum seatpan and foam, still a lot more to do... :bounce:

Today I tried the pocket hole jig from bauhaus, had a piece of plywood and a cabinet door laying around so i thought what the heck :pimpflash
This my first try at making cabinets... Or really anything with wood :)
Used only a 12v mini drill/bit driver and a oscillating tool from lidl, as I dont have anything bigger at hand, it took a while to cut the ply with the oscillating saw
:lol_hitti
Still need to make a shelf to put in the middle
Probably gonna use this to store paint and oils

Worked some more on the bike, assembled front lights and front mount oil cooler
Really hate this virus lockdown, hardware stores dont work only online orders, i ordered stuff from bauhaus for the drywall in the back of the garage and its taking ages to arrive...

got for free an old dental compressor metal cabinet
it will be my tool cart, cut some plywood for the top and bottom, installed some casters and a heavy duty handle, still need to make some shelves, i was thinking to mount two magnetic tool strips on the door to hold screwdrivers and pliers
dimensions are 50x60x85cm
also started prepping my project car...

Dru thanks for responding, Wall looks good. Bike sounds like quite the project can't wait to see more pics.

Installed a led light strip, also a temporary switch on the right
Now that there is light i took a pic of the rear subframe on the honda, its not finished but i primed it so it wont rust, it has rear suspension from an aprilia rs125 sportbike, frame is braced all around the new top shock mount, the swingarm also has a new linkage mount under it that also acts a brace of sort (i hope...)
Hope to finish the tool cart today and organize tools, then move the bench to the new wall

Great space, I'm interested to see what you do with it :)

Back in 2012 I had and XL600 that I was contemplating doing that to and even found a completed XL600 to cafe picture. I decided not to go ahead with it in favour of completing my other cafe project which I have just about done hahahaha just waiting for the exhaust to arrive and its done ;)

Bike project is pretty sweet and the garage space is coming along nicely. We call those "metal drywall fixtures" - metal, or steel, studs. I crazied out an RD-350 Yamaha a lifetime ago, even installed a factory roadrace fairing way before it was popular for street bikes. It was really fast for what it was, but being a two stroke, the throttle was either on or off. Drag raced it a lot. Excited to see how yours turns out. Forks are killer!

Thanks, I think this garage is lifes way of teaching me patience :lol_hitti

Yeah the forks are good, gift from a friend, came of a aprilia rsv1000r, gold ohlins, they had no triple clamps so i fitted some from an older ktm supermoto with a custom machined stem and shims for the tubes.

Cleaned a corner, painted a part of the wall, put some shelves up and filled them with junk... after about 5 hours of arranging what i need and what is garbage, then cleaned everything, really happy how it turned out.
Progress is slow on the garage as I have started remodeling apartment above it, so no time and no need at the moment to plaster the walls, i'll probably install some lights before anything else.
