Does anyone have any history or experience with this brand of saw?

I've wanted a dry-cut saw for sometime now, but they always seemed out of my price range / budget.

I really like the Milwaukee,.........or even the DeWalt DW872, but both of them are double the $$ (I have a coupon code where I can save another $50 off the Northern [Ironton] brand saw)

So,.....
I'm wondering if it's worth the risk ?

200 shipped to my door seems like a good deal.

What's everyone's opinion?

I've been using the metal cutting carbide tipped saw blades in my cheapo circular saw for about a year now, absolutely amazing. Not sure if that's an option for you.

They cut great, but very loud. The material needs to be secure in the vice, any movement will cause the blade to break. Blades can cost 60-100 bucks.

I have the Evolution Rage 4 small 7-1/4" cold cut saw. I'm just a hobbyist who cuts a little angle or pipe once in a while. I don't cut big pieces so I don't need 14" capacity. For what little I do it works great.

Two hundred for that saw is a great price. Heck, the blade is close to a hundred by itself. I have the older purple version and it works well.

i use a buddies milwalkee with a diablo blade. its loud but cuts like a dream. my experience with off brand saws is they are good as long as you put in a quality blade. i would imagine the blade it comes with will wear out quickly or not make very clean cuts. just my take.

also use a diablo cold saw blade in a circular saw for cutting steel sheet. will go through 1/8" pretty slick, you just need to wear hearing protection and long sleeves. shavings go EVERYWHERE. maybe add eye protection into that. i try to keep a fan blowing on me. seems to work.

I have been looking at these for a while and just stopped by my local NT to check one out. They said it was a closeout and they wouldn't be carrying them anymore and no longer had them in the stores.
Doing a search to see user reviews, I ran across this.

$199.99 plus tax and free shipping. Mine is due to be here March 30th. It should be more than adequate for my use.

I cut 1/4" and 3/16" plate mostly, circular saw just flies through it, prices range between $12-$20 on Amazon.
As others have mentioned, heading protection is a must, long sleeves, face shield and gloves too. It throws little chips everywhere and it gets old getting all these little cuts all over your arms and hands.
I haven't found anything that comes even remotely close to the speed and ease of cutting though. Clean up is obnoxious, but it's a small price to pay.
