Has anyone use one? Any good? Considering buying on, These are the ones that are like a regular chop saw but with a metal blade? Any info would be appreciated.Matt:beer:

I've got the Milwaukee, very much enjoy it. VERY loud but I always wear ear protection in the shop anyhow, and I always used ear protection even w abrasive saws. Don't discard your abrasive, however. Just tonight I was using it to cut single wall stove pipe, it won't "grab" thin material like the aggressive blades on the dry cuts.

Thanx for the reply. I am interested in it because it is not as messy as the abrasive saw. Do you have any idea how long the blade last? Matt:beer:

Be aware, also, that the $150ish bandsaw from Harbor freight works pretty well once a good blade is installed to replace their tinfoil one. Cheaper alternative to the cold-saw, and about as clean. :)

Agreed, an inexpensive band saw is a good alternative. But does take up more room, is slow for small stock, and will actually pull/bend very small stock. Has advantages, too, tho....good blade life, blades aren't too spendy, might handle larger stock than a 14" circular.

Sorry, don't mean to steal the thread, but does anyone have any more info on these? Price range? Links or anything? I have a Ryobi chop saw, and it works pretty good, but yeah, it's pretty messy. The only other ones I've seen are the wet saws. Thanks for any more info!

Between $400 and $500. Hope you REALLY hate your chop-saw. ;)

Google DeWalt Multi-Cutter - that should net you a bunch of hits.

Some great info there, thanks! That seems like a pretty good compromise between the chop saw and a cold saw. My chop saw works good enough for now, but I have a feeling I'll be in the market for one of these dry saws in the next year or two.
