Dry cut saws on stainless steel

Started a new job earlier in 2020 and the company allows us to buy stuff from the scrap bin for scrap price. This is good and bad for people like me. I can get large sections of stainless up to 3/4” thick. We use 304 stainless 90% of the time.

One example of something I want to make is a small gas tank for my demolition derby cars.

I’m thinking of getting a dry cut hand held circular saw to cut the sheets. Like an Evo or Milwaukee.

So has anyone used one of their dry cut saws on stainless steel? Are there special blades for stainless, how long do they last?

Special blades, more teeth than mild steel. I haven't used one on stainless , so I don't know how they last. I'd imagine it would be comparable to a mild blade, so stay away from thick stuff like 3/8".

I have a 14" dry cut chop saw with a good freud blade on it. I cut a couple pieces of stainless on it and it ruined the blade. I bought a new blade and learned my lesson. I do believe they make blades specifically for stainless.

I've had the milwaukee 2682-20 saw for at least 5 years. All thread, strut, emt is easy to cut. 20ga and thicker stainless sheets shortened the blade life.
Oh, and DON'T forget the hearing protection.
