Dry lubricant?

Stopped by NAPA today to pick up some random supplies and while getting a bottle of silicone spray I came across Liquid Wrench Dry Lubricant. I read the description and while it explained how it worked, it gave no examples of its uses. I'm sure the old rule "if you have to ask you don't need it" applies, I have to wonder what you would use it for?

Locks and keys....probably graphite.

I use where there is moderate to high dust/dirt exposure. I use primarily on the "things" under my motor home. Regular lubricants tend collect dirty stuff. I use the spray can stuff.

silicon spray comes in 2 varieties; dry and wet.

I use the dry inside locks, rubber window tracks and on garage door rollers.

This was in a spray can. I may pick up a bottle to keep around and try out.

It's mixed with a carrier that will evaporate after spraying, leaving the dry lubricant.

I have used on drawer slides, vice slides, and even outriger slides on a crane truck. Works good for keeping the rust down and the sticky gunk off, a nice smooth slide.

Meh. Go to a bicycle shop, and get Pedro's extra dry lube. That's the best dry teflon lubricant I've found to date. It has it's uses. One funny one: I use it on the shower curtain rod to keep the hooks sliding better (the aluminum rod isn't as smooth as a chrome one, and the hooks don't slide well unless I apply this every few months, but it doesn't rust, so it is a toss up).

I'd skip the Liquid Wrench dry lube. The carrier has an awful gasoline smell.
Oh, and be careful with graphite in locks. Some locks don't like it at all. Pure silicone is all I use.
