Just Finished Dryloking my basement, and holy S. i dont wish that on anyone. I was able to spray it for a little bit, got the general area sprayed didnt get to the top or bottom "trim work" when the sand and grit in the drylok eventually just ruined my electric pump (Graco) i was a little pissed about that but not as pissed as i was when i started brushing the dry lok.... first off the brush is more like a broom, and once you get some drylok on the brush it weights 3 times as much. dont bother trying to roll it, even with a heavy knapp roller it just doesn hold enough material to cover the block. in closing, Drylok + Two Coats + Two Days = Nightmare.

I think it's all in what your expectations were. I have used the stuff for years, always brushed it and had very good results. You have to remember that it's not going to apply like paint, and it's not going to brush out like paint. Use a well loaded brush and as soon as it seems like it's dragging, load it up again. Great covrage with fewer strokes. it's just the learning curve. spraying the stuff is near to impossible, as you discovered and using a well loaded brush puts enough material on the surface to fill the pores in the concrete which not only improves the appearance but yields better waterproofing characteristics as well.

I'll be using it sometime this summer, have had a 5 gal pail waiting for awhile now. Not looking forward to scrubbing the walls and then applying it. Can't say I feel any more motivated to tackle the project anytime soon. lol

I have used it before in a large basement and it worked well. I applied it by brush and expected it to be more difficult than standard paint. I plan to use it again if I don't find better ideas here.

Awfully thick to spray .. I was under the house applying that stuff (on a retaining wall) with a brush and got dizzy from the fumes .. can't be good for you.

Drylok is a *****; but it works great especially in damp areas that need it like the midwest or where water seepage is a problem. I wanna say that they mention in the paperwork that its not to be sprayed on cause it needs to be worked into the pores of the concrete, and they admit that its a pain in the *** to apply, its always nice when the job is done though.
