Drywall dust in electric tools

I've heard it causes problems but I've been using a Milwaukee Mag Hole Shooter for a while now and the last owner got dust inside. I tried to clean it but can only get the brush cover off and the handle plate. I can get inside the gearbox too but I can't remove the whole thing to remove the armature .
I'm thinking of just leaving it since the drill has been working fine.
Anyone ever have problems with drywall dust getting inside tools ?

Drywall dust might cause problems for some brands but I doubt you'll have to worry about it with a tool made by Milwaukee, especially if it's one of the older USA designed tools.

Thanks . I'm guessing its a late 70's early 80s model.
When I do run it I never let it get hot .
I cleaned the box out and put fresh grease in too.

I Killed A Dremel Once. I Managed To Clean The Brushes And Get It Running Again. Its Probably Rough On The Bearings Also But They Should Be Sealed

When anyone tells me they need a new (insert power tool ) I tell them to replace the brushes first. The difference in power is amazing.

if only I knew about brushes when I was a teen... killed a dremel nearly once a year back then...
