Drywall lift opinions

I found a drywall couple lifts at Walmart that could save my back and not make me a nuisance to my friends.

Anything Features i should be looking for in these tools?

Anyone have any opinions on either or is there something better to be had in that price range:

i bought one of the cheap chinese lifts many years ago for my shop and it's worked ok, as long as you don't mind occasional fixes or modifications. i would assume at this price, that this is one of those. good lifts start quite a bit higher i think. if i recall correctly, i paid about 200 for one with the 15' extension.

When I did my 1300 sf. ceiling, I just used a "T" made from 2x4's. if they sold cheap lifts like that 20 yrs. ago I probably would have went that route...for the money, as long as you don't plan on hanging rock for a living, I would think it would suffice. you could always sell it when you are done and get a good chunk of your money back.

I have used one like the yellow one. My dad bought one. It's not the smoothest thing going up, but it does the job. Like was said earlier, it doesn't compare to a pro unit. But for the money, you can't beat it. Lot cheaper than renting one if you aren't going to get your project done in just a few days or are going to need it for a longer period of time. And you can always resell it when done and recoup most of your money. Unless you find a pro unit used for sale, you aren't going to get much better for the money.

Looking at these lifts, I'm guessing you can't hold the bottom of the Sheetrock a foot off the floor. Is there a minimum height off the floor rock can be held?

Mine can hold rock 4-5' off the floor with the short extension. More like 6.5' with the 15' riser.

It is 4 or 5 feet off the ground for the lowest that the drywall can bet held, and it won't hold the drywall on the wall because of the way the feet are placed. They work well for the ceiling, and Harbor Freight also sells them, FYI.

These can't hold drywall on the wall? Is it just for ceilings?

yep, for ceilings.
you can make a set of tees out of 2x4s to do the same job.

he can get the middle of the wall, sorta, and that's about it...

I guess you're right. A sheet would have been layed down off the floor first.
