Quick question for everyone...

My father gave me his old 30gal Campbell Hausfield compressor for a gift a couple years back. Its oil less and runs well but its getting a bit small. What I am wondering is; can you plumb another air tank onto this set up? Maybe a 10 gal or something just to get a little more use before the compressor turns on?

Plumbing in more air capacity on a small, oilless compressor is... well pointless. The compressor will take longer to charge, and air storage does not equal higher output.
In reality, you need a compressor that has a higher CFM output.

Yes , but it will run longer to refill. I have done this with an extra 60 gallon tank with my old stuff when sand blasting and painting. Works ok but compressor runs alot.

+1 Spyder. In my younger days, I worked at a dive shop where I was "air fill boy". We had a 4-bank system and on weekend mornings, when all the divers came in to get their tanks filled, it was nuts. If you ever want to see the rudest people on the planet, try serving dozens of impatient divers wanting their tanks filled. Fortunately, the owner had installed a huge compressor to handle the receiver tanks. That job was one reason I decided to pursue a college education. :bounce:

Oh yes, I remember I was also compressor "maintenance boy" so I remember all the things I had to do to keep the air dry and cool and the compressor almost constantly running . I hated the job, but at a young age, I learned alot of stuff that I use in my current life.
