btw what kind of paint did you use on the concrete footer?
Wow, amazing progress in a short period of time. Well done!
dubber,
GREAT job on the GLI wall! I really like how it turned out, so clean and useful at the same time! The before (with patching) and after pics really show how much great work you did. The floor is coming along great as well. Looking forward to your next update!
exactly how i did it, then once they were on the wet sealant i applied a few layers over them as well.
i was out there at least 4 times, twice before i added the flake and twice after to make sure that it had properly dried/tacked up.
btw what kind of paint did you use on the concrete footer?
Thanks, so you used the sealant on the footer itself or just where the footer meets the floor?
"Prior to these two coats i had also added a Polyurethance waterproof concrete sealant around the whole perimeter where the footer meets the floor."
Just making sure, because I want to do mine, though I really really need to clean mine up first a bit. I'll post up some the concerns I have with mine later tonight in my thread once I get home.
Looking sharp. Interested to see how the double compares to the single.![]()
I've actually haven't had to move mine much esp since it's been sitting in storage for some time now--placed it there when our house was still under renovation and the garage still needs some work so I haven't moved too much back in. I'll keep an eye on it tho!
I really need to explore my options for my floor--something like what you are doing is a great idea. I should do it now before it gets any colder lol
Your grarage it's absolutely amazing !!
Congrats for such a result![]()
SWEET!! You KNOW we're all excited for you. And make sure to let them know the kind of attention your garage gets.. they SHOULD give you a discount.
We have something similar here at work. The static is very very bad with it, oddly.
Oh yea......and RaceDeck order confirmed![]()
nice idea there, I did get my quote, but looks like they had a typo and forgot a digit lol
Wow, I havent been on in a few weeks. You have made tons of progress, its looking great.
hahaha, sweet!
Wow had to check the news to see what was up. Gunman still loose?![]()
Solidarity my friend.
Looking forward to seeing the race deck. Have enjoyed your build once again.
Just watched it on the news here in Australia.
Your garage floor will look great when finished.
Looking forward to you getting the racedeck in and installed! As for gunman? Stay safe my friend!
Scary happenings in the nation's capital. I haven't yet had time to review all of what has been going on, but I know enough that it isn't/wasn't good.
But, congrats on your new FF floor. I like the idea of going with the alloy for the "band". I have kicked that same idea around in my head a couple of times. There's nothing wrong with a little change time to time. Have fun with the install. I don't think I need to remind YOU that pics will be necessary once it's down.
Received my tracking number last night![]()
are you having it shipped directly to the house or going across the border to get it yourself?
Great idea with the alloy band instead of the red. I've thought about replacing my red tiles with that color as well (I now feel like I have too much red!).
Nice work as always. Can't wait to see the finished product!
Dubber
I know your excited as we are to see the Racedeck installed. It will look super, owing to the colors in your garage, and the design you have made. I like everything you have done, and it looks really nice now. The flooring will be the icing on your cake.
I would like to do something like that in my shop, but with the work and projects I do in there it just would not last long. I just go with a mop and a good sealer or wax.
Stay safe my friend!!
Best Regards
Herb
I buy Performance VW magazine over here in the UK and they feature US/Canadian show reports. Let me know if you go to any and I'll keep an eye out for pics of your gorgeous car in them.
If I find any I'll send a copy over for you.![]()
Excellent color choice Dubber. I have the alloy & graphite of the solid tiles.
You will love it. Can't wait to see some pictures of it down.
The flooring arive yet???
Another couple things off my list today. I had a few cracks and voids near the base of the wall on both sides of the garage door so i filled those today with some window filler stuff, the name escapes me. Next on the list was putting a frosted film on the window in the garage, i really wanted something on there that avoided the need for blinds. We also had a bathroom that really needed it as we always had to have the blinds closed in there for any kind of privacy. Having two 2'x4' windows in the bathroom was a little much. Could potentially channel my inner exhibitionist lol...
One window done.

Now to the garage!

Pretty happy with the results. Not hard but time consuming and definitely need an extra set of hands for the peeling and spraying phases. I also did a little splicing with some leftovers to allow me to return one of the boxes. This will finance another shop light i'm thinking
Loving the privacy this gives while still allowing tons of light to come in.
