Anyone on here familiar with Homak products? I'm looking at maybe getting this guy. The value seems tremendous at $399, compared to the pricing i was seeing when looking at the three pieces individually. Saw it at Costco last week and was really impressed. The quality really seems to be there. The reason this caught my attention is i'm planning to sell my Husky tool chest just due to the size. Its an awesome piece but in my new garage i don't have room for the side flip open doors. I'm looking to get something with a more narrow footprint. Something like this fits the bill perfectly. If anyone has any experience with this brand the insight would be helpful. Thanks!

Dubber, Looking awesome! Even if I had a double my wife still knows that would mean her car would be outside! I would need a 3 car to have all of them inside. However, I have spoken the words 2 car household lately and that is a little scary. Keep up the good work!

I've seen those Homak boxes often even considered one before i bought my 40" box. Right now Homedepot has the 3 piece 27" Husky box for close to $299 as it was in the black Friday flyers for under $200. I know my local stores still have all kinds of them and it might fit the space and save you some money.
I bought one of those Homaks last year and I really like it. It has a good weight and the pulls feel fairly solid. Overall build quality seems good also. My only complaint would be that the mat on top of the main body stinks like cheap rubber. I thought it was very good value for money.

Ive had my 40" husky box for almost a year with a few of the drawers filled to capacity without issues. I debated the chest with the wooden top for a while as an extra work bench but decided i wanted more room for tools. I think either one will work fine for you its just a matter of which one you like more and how much you would like to spend.

I've looked at both boxes too, and I think I'm going to end up going with the Husky when it's time. It feels like the sturdiest of the "value conscious" boxes I've encountered, and you can't beat the price. For the light duty it will see with me it should hold up fine.

So I'm browsing GJ and think hey, I wonder what's new with dubber. Low and behold dubber's single is no more now it's dubber's double. So after spending three days seeing your progress, my mind is blown. I moved into a new place just a couple months ago and it's nothing but pure chaos. I've made some progress, at least my Beetle and bike fit but nothing like you have. All I can say is one hell of an inspiration. Your garage look amazing and has helped motivate me to do more planning on mine.
Dubber - I made some updates to the garage mounting frames in my project, from inspiration of your single car build. I gave you appropriate credit. Just wanted to let you know.

Had a few hours of garage bliss this afternoon. Detailed the TDI to rid it of the salt which at this point unfortunately was acting as a blanket. Sadly this is after only a couple of weeks. My new little space heater is working great. The temp is about -12 Celsius outside but its a nice +12 Celsius in here.
The other portion of my time was adding another small improvement in the form of garage art. Fits in well with the German car theme my space has developed.
Finally found some frames to get these awesome posters up and on display.

I've been happy with my Husky boxes since I bought them a while ago. I've got some pics in my garage thread.
I wish that the drawers had individual catches on them to keep them closed (instead of just the one mechanism in the back that locks the drawers), and that the side handle was reinforced better at the mounting point - not a big deal, as it's built into my bench now.

The new art looks good!
Had a fun night last night with this badboy dropping by. Not bad for around 200 grand. Can't believe how huge it is, i really wanted to see what it looked like in the garage space wise. I only had a couple inches to spare at the back and at the front with my workbench. The GLI parked beside it looked like a MINI cooper in comparison.

Its funny how their lineup as gained mass. The new 5 series is probably bigger than your old 7.
I was joking with my brother-in-law since the car is worth more than his place he could sell his place to get this car, and then since he would need a place to park it he could use my garage. Then it costs ME nothing!Last night was a busy night............
Finally sold my 35" Husky Professional tool chest. The price made it even more thrilling as I was able to sell it for $100 more than i paid 2 years ago, still smiling about that. Offloaded another small thing later that night which will be thrown into the pot for the new replacement. My fingers are crossed the box i've zeroed in on is still available.. If all works out i'll be going tonight to pick it up. Stay tuned!
Needless to say the garage is a mess right now with some storage solutions in flux.
Oh yea and we got a dump of snow last night, first real test for the new floor.

7am: Surface of floor was dry by the morning and not slippery which is awesome.
Another aspect that I'm appreciating in regards to the RaceDeck FreeFlow tiles is that due to the nature of the surface design, it helps to eliminate splatter. Normally when the snow melts off the car if eventually falls off in clumps and splatters off the floor surface and onto whatever is next to it. FreeFlow tiles certainly shine in this situation based on their design. If i didn't have the RaceDeck in there i would have had runoff splatter on the wall on one side and on my car cover on the other side.

I was waiting for that hahaha.
No i clear all windows and most of the snow off the panels with a specific brush but without pressing hard usually leaves a thin crust layer. And to be fair that was buildup from sitting on the driveway so not much of a commute into the garage
Only thing i clear off before going into the garage is the nasty wheel well build up.diggler306

My garage actually isn't heated so it does fluctuate. I do however use a space heater when i'll be in there working on something. I didn't have the heater on though with those snow shots. Lately in the morning its been about 5 C in there and its about -15 C outside.

Never have to use the Queensway thankfully. Using that road daily for a work commute could lead to suicidal thoughts.

Picked up the new tool chest last night, thankfully Costco still had it in stock. I was a little stressed with the thought of maybe missing it. That's the thing with Costco, you can find some great deals, just don't wait or it may be gone, for good! Its a Homak 14 Drawer 3 piece combo box. Its only 27" wide compared to my 35" Husky box. The Husky one also had the butterfly opening side compartments which were a pain in this garage having to leave space on either side. This was another main motivator for the change.
And a few pics The boxes were bigger then i had anticipated. I had about an inch to spare in my FIL's Tribute. Thankfully the pick up/transportation/drop off went smoothly. Wifey was down for a ride to Costco so i already had a helper luckily since you really should have two people to lift these in and out of the SUV.
I needed to get this step done before i can move onto the compressor and TV additions as everything is dependent on the previous item for space.
Very happy with the quality upon initial inspection.
Here is its new home.
This shot really highlights the reason for the change. I haven't yet moved the workbench. Changing to this style of box saved me about 15 inches which is substantial. I'm planning to add a larger Compressor; still debating if it will go in this slot......
Or shift over the bench and put it in this slot. Both have their merits.

Looking good dubber, I like the new box. Which spot is more central? That would probably give you the most flexibility, no?
